Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The opposition is attacking the budget and accusing it of discrimination against the states. Opposition MPs also protested outside the House on Wednesday. During this, SP MP Jaya Bachchan also attacked the Modi government.
Jaya Bachchan also joined the protest of opposition MPs. During this, she said, we are saying that speak the truth. Do not mislead the country. Will the jobs promised to the youth be included in the list of those who are already waiting? Or will these jobs be given separately? Jaya Bachchan said, “Nothing was given to the states in this budget. What did you give to Bihar? You just misled them. The people of Bihar are very happy…”
INDIA Alliance MPs protested
MPs of the parties included in the India Alliance alleged discrimination and injustice against the states ruled by opposition parties in the budget and protested against it in the Parliament House complex. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and MPs of many other opposition parties participated in this protest.
Opposition MPs raised strong slogans against the government. Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that this budget is anti-people. He said, ‘No one has got justice. Bihar and Andhra Pradesh have not got the status of special state.’
Earlier, Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal had said on Tuesday that the Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states will boycott the meeting of Niti Aayog to be held on July 27. He also alleged that the attitude of this government towards constitutional principles is completely ‘unethical’.
